The 280-meter Diana Bridge is a multi-span, prestressed concrete I-girder bridge. It will connect Samtse Dzongkhag headquarters to nine of the Dzongkhag’s gewogs via the Samtse-Tashichholing Secondary National Highway. Designed with a load capacity of 70 tonnes, it replaces a 300-meter Bailey bridge that had been operating at a reduced capacity. The construction of the Diana Bridge was completed 16 months ahead of its original schedule, marking a significant engineering accomplishment for the nation.
